In the work “The Brazilian Face of Catechesis”, Father Dr. Luiz Alves de Lima explores the paths of Catechesis in Brazil. The book presents the historical process of the Brazilian catechetical movement since the 1940s, showing the features and physiognomy of Brazilian catechesis through the study of events, people, official documents, and other specialized bibliography regarding catechesis, doctrines, and actions of the entire Church in Brazil, in an effort to educate its recipients in the faith: adults, young people, and children.

Salesian (SDB) priest and doctor of Pastoral Catechistic Theology, he is a consultant for catechism to the CNBB and CELAM. Founding member of the SCALA (Società dei Catechisti Latinoamericani) and of the SBCat (Società Brasiliana dei Catechisti), he is professor emeritus at the UNISAL of San Paolo (Brazil) – Campus Pio XI (Curriculo di Teologia). He has an insignia in diverse centric studies of Brazil and in other countries of Latin America. He is the first editor of the «Revista de Catequese». He has collaborated in the creation of numerous documents from the CNBB and catechesi and has participated in the Sinodo dei Vescovi del 2012 in Vaticano, in the capacity of consultant. I read the Dottorato “Honoris Causa” in Pedagogia dalla Facoltà di Scienze dell’Educazione dell’Università Pontificia Salesiana (Rome) and in 2018 l’onorificenza dalla CNBB per i 40 anni di insegnamento theologico catechetico in all Brazil and in the Latin American nation.
